I don’t really have anything specific on my mind tonight.
If I was not part of the 30 day blogging challenge, I would not have posted anything today. The problem with that though, is that this would probably make me less likely to post tomorrow as well, and just like that the habit I am trying to develop might simply fade away. I am 100% committed to completing the 30 day blogging challenge in full, so I sit here writing…
I have a similar feeling when it comes to my daily walks. Today marks my eight straight day of a walk of at least 1 hour. I can definitely feel that I am in better shape now than at the beginning of the challenge, but I still have to make myself take these walks. Today was actually my longest walk so far, both in time (104 minutes), and distance (5.41 miles) – this will probably be an outlier, but it felt good to be able to complete the walk with no problem, and to take total miles walked for the month past 31. https://relica.world/post/6e1aeae5-d3ba-4e13-9d6b-3d66d15f6a21
After the first 8 days, I do feel that it would probably have been better for my body if I had decided to walk 5 or 6 days per week, with 1 or 2 days off. However, I have noticed in the past that once I skip 1 day, the chance of me skipping the next day goes up dramatically, and before I know it I am no longer taking daily, or even regular, walks. This tendency is especially strong when I am extra busy and/or stressed.
The time from now until Christmas will be the busiest time of the year for my business, so I will need to make a conscious decision to prioritize time for daily walks.
